"Shocking" your swimming pool means giving it a large dose of unstabilized chlorine to disinfect the water rapidly. Pool shock eliminates chloramine, chlorine that has destroyed algae & bacteria and has become ineffective, in the pool.

Filters need to be running no less than six to eight hours during the day to maintain proper water turnover rates.

Strainer baskets should be cleaned out at least once a week and debris in the pool should scooped out at least every other day.

Levels should be checked 2-3 times a week in the summer and once a week in the winter.
